I'm a good person. I have a heart of gold. I try my best. I’m imperfect. Sometimes I’m crazy. I often make mistakes. I apologize. I can be mean and ugly. My thoughts are not always nice. I get depressed. I have pain. I start over. I give. I sacrifice. I try to be the bigger person. I try to be Christlike.

Finding My True Self

Somewhere along the way, in putting others first, I took myself right out of the equation. I’ve allowed myself to be mistreated and disrespected. It took me going through an incredibly hard couple of years to realize this. I shut down. I hoarded all my energy for myself. I felt empty and in need of being filled.

Can anyone relate?

The Weight of Misunderstanding

We all have “stuff.” We all get triggered. We all want to be seen, heard, and understood. We assume those we love the most truly know us. We feel it’s normal to have to fight to be loved the way we deserve. But it’s not! We should not and do not need to fight to be loved. You love me, or you don’t. I’m working on being okay with that.

Do you ever feel completely misunderstood by the people you love? I mean, to the point where you question your own reality? Have you ever allowed yourself to believe untrue, negative things about who you are at your very core? Have you turned into a doormat?

Breaking Free from Negativity

Well, for me, this is it! This is where it ends. I’m too old to live my life this way any longer. I’ve spent too many years doubting myself. I will not use my energy explaining myself or trying to get people to understand me. I will not beg for anyone to like me or see why I am the way I am. I will show people how to treat me by loving myself and being my own biggest fan. I will not put myself first, but I will add myself to the equation. I will not tolerate disrespect.

I’m not saying I’m all that. I’m saying I am the only one who’s walked this walk, who’s gone through what I’ve gone through, and who’s lived this life. It’s no better or worse than most.

Embracing My Identity

I know exactly who I am, maybe for the first time in my life. I’ve been through a lot over the past few years. I’ve been at my darkest and seen who I am at my very core. I’ve been attacked, fighting the biggest war against me I’ve ever faced.

I didn’t always feel Him, but God was constantly there. I believe what He says about me. I believe what He feels about me. It’s more important and true than anything anyone else believes or feels. I am His! Anyone who tries to attack me is attacking His daughter. His loved one. I will stand up for her until my dying day.

A New Beginning

This is me. Take me or leave me. If you take me, I will give you my best and love you as Christ would. If you leave me, I will wish you peace.

The Journey Ahead

As I move forward, I am committed to nurturing my spirit. I will embrace my imperfections and celebrate my strengths. I will surround myself with those who uplift me and respect my journey. Life is too short to dwell in negativity.

I invite you to join me on this journey of self-discovery and acceptance. Let’s support each other in our quest for love and understanding. Together, we can create a space where we feel valued and cherished.

The Power of Self-Love

Self-love is not selfish; it’s essential. When we love ourselves, we set the tone for how others treat us. We teach them what to expect. I am learning to prioritize my needs without guilt. I am learning to say no when necessary and yes to opportunities that bring joy.

Building Healthy Relationships

Healthy relationships are built on mutual respect. I am learning to communicate openly and honestly. I am learning to express my feelings without fear of judgment. It’s okay to set boundaries. It’s okay to walk away from those who do not honor them.

Finding Joy in the Little Things

Life is full of small joys. I am learning to appreciate the little things that bring happiness. Whether it’s a warm cup of tea, a good book, or a walk in nature, I am finding joy in simplicity. These moments remind me of the beauty in life.

Conclusion: A Journey of Growth

As I continue this journey, I am filled with hope. I am excited about what lies ahead. I am committed to being the best version of myself. I invite you to join me in this journey of growth and self-discovery. Together, we can create a life filled with love, respect, and joy.

Let’s embrace our true selves and support one another in this beautiful journey of life.
